Summer holidays can be a difficult time for families with special needs. Our kids are out of school and since most of them thrive on routines, this throws us off completely. 
Ayaana sleeps late and then wants to sleep in all day which leads to such arguments. 
Another common misconception is that individuals with Down syndrome are always happy. That’s not the case. They too have a wide range of emotions and sometimes struggle to explain their feelings. One on one talks help us sort out our disagreements.
