I think modernapothecaryboise might be my favorite shopping spot in the Treasure Valley, and I don’t say that lightly.

Last October, an impaired driver crashed into Miranda’s shop, forcing her to relocate. What makes the story even more unbelievable is that she still hasn’t received a single penny from the driver’s insurance company. Despite that, she’s rebuilt and created one of the most beautifully curated spaces in the city. But not enough people know it’s back.

You’ll now find Modern Apothecary at 413 S. 8th Street, Suite B in BoDo, right across from Idaho Candy Co. inside a gorgeous historic building.

The shop carries products from more than 17 local artists and brands, from pressed flower cards and artisan pottery to skincare, candles, loose leaf teas, herbal tinctures, fragrances, bath essentials, wellness books, and more. Nearly everything is handmade and thoughtfully chosen. I can’t remember the last time I walked into a store where I wanted to take almost everything home. (My birthday is in September.)

Everything is cruelty-free, ethically sourced, and centered around plant-based products, making it easy to shop small while supporting makers who put real intention into what they create. And if you’re someone who enjoys connecting with the universe, I think you’ll really appreciate the energy of the space.

They’ve also built a workshop space where local businesses and artists host community classes, including terrarium making, flower crown workshops, yoga, flower arranging, tarot, and more. The space is also available for other local businesses and creators to host their own classes for a small rental fee.

If you haven’t been since the move, or didn’t even know they were back, it’s absolutely worth stopping in.
