Another week, another set of outstanding performances from the Bay Area’s best! We’re excited to celebrate this week’s Charlie Wedemeyer Memorial Coaches of the Week and Players of the Week, proudly presented by U.S. Bank.

Congratulations to this week’s honorees:

Ania Aleshi of Hillsdale High School, our #49ersFLAG Player of the Week. The junior quarterback completed 29 of 37 passes for 306 yards and three touchdowns to lead Hillsdale to a 21-6 win over Santa Clara. She also added 13 rushing yards on three carries, and earlier in the week went 17 of 21 for 116 yards against San Mateo.

Jhadis Luckey of Clayton Valley High School, our #49ersPREP Player of the Week. Luckey rushed for 305 yards and five touchdowns to power Clayton Valley to a 35-16 victory over College Park. With the win, Clayton Valley (1-1) now looks ahead to hosting San Ramon Valley on Friday.

We’re also proud to recognize our Coaches of the Week:

John Sowell of James Logan High School, Flag Coach of the Week. Coach Sowell has led James Logan to a perfect 4-0 record in their inaugural season, including a 39-0 victory over Mt. Eden and a 34-0 win over Hayward.

John Pangelina of Tennyson High School, PREP Coach of the Week. Coach Pangelina guided Tennyson to a commanding 30-0 victory over Newark Memorial, showcasing his team’s strong start to the season.
