“You know I never believed that I can work in a community because. At first. I remember my first field where Hilary sent me to talk to a women’s group.
And I was like women really? And I was like: How am I going to talk with these women? First, will they listen to me? Yeah. So I went but I found myself crying in front of them.
Yeah. So at least now I can say that Siaya Muungano has built my confidence. Now I can go even if I am sent I can talk with people independently.”
 
 
Shalin works with the Siaya Muungano Network to empower young girls and women, and advocate for the education of those from the disabled community.
