#TSRLocalLens: A Williamsport, PA father is sharing videos of his son’s first encounter with an officer, due to what he says was his son looking suspicious while walking.

Jessie Lopez Sr. shared videos of his son, #JessieLopez Jr., being approached by an officer who mentioned the jacket he was wearing in the warm weather. The officer then told the young man that he was conducting a traffic stop on him as he walked in front of a vehicle while crossing the road.

Lopez Sr. said to The Shade Room, “He was wearing a hooded jacket because he suffers from eczema, and direct sunlight aggravates his skin condition. Although it was warm outside, there was a legitimate medical reason for him wearing his hood.”

In a second video, Jessie Jr. recorded himself in the back of a vehicle while handcuffed. Lopez Sr. shared that he’s looking at this incident as a lesson. He said in his social media caption, “This was a lesson for both of us. I need to make sure he knows how to interact with police, even when he feels he’s done nothing wrong. Things can escalate fast. He ended up handcuffed and detained because he didn’t want to stop and answer their questions.”
