#TSRLocalLens: Utah has revoked the license of Provo Canyon School, the boarding school where #ParisHilton says she was abused as a teenager.

State officials said the school failed to meet health and safety standards, citing violations that included neglecting student care, using unnecessary physical restraint, failing to properly staff the facility, and not completing employee background checks on time. Earlier this year, the school was also cited after staff allegedly failed to get immediate medical care for an injured student.

In a statement, Hilton said the decision validates what survivors have been saying for decades.

“For more than fifty years, children came forward with stories of abuse, neglect, and trauma,” she said. “Today, the state confirmed what survivors have known all along: Provo Canyon School failed the children in its care.”
