After a year of the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” Texas is seeing large drops in SNAP participation, particularly for children.

At the same time, Texas food banks are seeing huge demand for emergency food assistance. These patterns strongly suggest that new eligibility restrictions and expanded work requirements are making it harder for eligible Texans to stay enrolled.
