Boston’s waterfront is about to get very busy.

Sail Boston 250 is bringing more than 60 tall ships and naval vessels from over 25 countries to the city from July 11 to 16 as part of a huge maritime festival marking the 250th anniversary of the United States.

Boston is the final stop on the nationwide Sail250 tour, and city officials are expecting around 4 million visitors over the course of the event.

The celebration will take over Boston Harbor, the Seaport and the Charlestown Navy Yard with a packed lineup that includes the Parade of Sail, free ship tours, cultural programming, waterfront events and more.

If you’re planning to go, just know the city is expecting major crowds, expanded MBTA service and street closures around the harbor.
