Boston fans are getting their tailgates back!

After initially saying tailgating wouldn’t be allowed for World Cup games in Foxborough, organizers have officially reversed course.

That means fans heading to matches at Gillette Stadium, which will be referred to as “Boston Stadium” during the tournament, can once again plan for the full pre-game experience.

Fans were NOT happy about the initial ruling, but it was a simpler fix than you’d think.

It turns out there was no official anti-tailgete policy in place by FIFA, leaving the decision up to each host city.

With no venue or safety restrictions preventing it, Boston’s host committee has now confirmed that tailgating will be allowed.
