Rummana Dada on Instagram: "Our #dubai school tours led to our favourite picks. Many of you asked me to share so here are our favourites, 1. King’s @kings_albarsha @kings_education and 1. Clarion @clarion.school for very different reasons. The facilities at both are excellent with King’s perhaps taking the lead just due to the sheer volume of space and multiple play areas, pools (3) courts (indoor & outdoor), the open and bright classrooms throughout the years is another big plus. Clarion on the other hand (an American school) has a very much more relaxed creative vibe focused on progressive education linking everything to experiences to create deep learning. I love the very relaxed approach, somewhat as if education should be a fun journey of exploration with children taking a trip once a month rather than per term at most schools. Clarion’s team also reflect this clear difference with a wonderful relaxed feeling of openness and discussion, creativity and innovation. The innovation lab was really inspiring with so many gadgets with 2-3 sessions per week. However, King’s music rooms, drama studios, food economics and science laboratories really inspired us! Which one will Ayah-Sophia choose? The choice is hers. I believe in a very much child-centric approach to parenting and will accommodate her wishes. It has been fundamental to me that she attends each tour and she experiences each school fully. I want her to be the decision maker of her future, for your school impacts your friends, your likes and dislikes and your entire future rides on it.

Schools here are just so much better in facilities, resources and activity options than the UK. We really should consider ourselves blessed. As for educational standard I feel this is very much up to you as the parent. I’m hearing a great deal of Oxbridge and going on to read law and medicine at top universities from here, it’s not about leaving it to the school in its entirety but it’s about topping up with relevant resources which you as a parent have to proactively find. For me these are our amazing sessions with @byjusfutureschool @byjus_app for maths and music now! @brightchamps for coding!
