Instagram Version

Space is entering its infrastructure stress test.

SpaceX launched another Falcon 9 this morning carrying 29 Starlink satellites.

The booster completed its record breaking 36th flight.

That matters because reusable launch is becoming routine.

Launch.

Land.

Refly.

Repeat.

This is how space scales.

But the darker signal is debris.

Warwick researchers announced new work tracking tiny hazardous fragments in geosynchronous orbit, including debris as small as 5 centimeters.

Small enough to hide.

Large enough to hurt.

That is the contradiction of the new space economy.

Reusable rockets are lowering the cost of access.

Orbital debris is raising the cost of survival.

Every launch expands the market.

Every fragment expands the risk surface.

NASA’s Cosmic Bat Nebula image reminds us space is still beautiful, strange, and ancient.

But near Earth, space is becoming industrial.

Traffic.

Logistics.

Insurance.

Tracking.

Servicing.

Cleanup.

Forward Hypothesis

The next great space companies may not only launch rockets.

They may protect the orbital roads those rockets create.

The frontier is no longer empty.

It is becoming infrastructure.

And infrastructure only works if it survives its own growth.
