Abington Heights junior goalie Colton Naholnik caught up with NEPA Lacrosse after being named the 2026 NEPA Lacrosse Boys Goalie of the Year.

Naholnik was also named WVC Coaches’ Defensive Player of the Year and was the only goalie selected to the 22-player NEPA Lacrosse Boys All-District Team.

He finished the season with 220 saves in 22 games, a .609 save percentage, 141 goals allowed and 1 shutout.

Naholnik played a huge role in Abington Heights’ defensive identity during one of the best seasons in program history, helping the Comets reach their first District 2 Class 2A final, make their first PIAA state playoff appearance and earn their first state tournament win.

For his career, Naholnik has already totaled 636 saves, a .632 save percentage and 1,007 shots faced.

We talked with Colton about the program history Abington Heights made this season, what stood out most from the year, his mindset and growth as a leader in cage, the parts of his game that helped him take another step, what he is focused on improving this summer, and what he hopes to show coaches through the recruiting process and into his senior season.
