🦴 Not all injuries should be treated the same.

One of the issues I've been discussing recently is people treating a fracture like a sprain—or a sprain like a fracture.

❄️ For years, we were taught RICE:
• Rest
• Ice
• Compression
• Elevation

❤️ Today, many therapists favor PEACE & LOVE for soft tissue injuries like ankle sprains and muscle strains:

✅ Protect
✅ Elevate
✅ Avoid excessive anti-inflammatories
✅ Compress
✅ Educate

Then:

💪 Load the tissue gradually
😊 Stay optimistic
🏃 Increase blood flow (vascularization)
🤸 Exercise to restore strength and mobility

The goal isn’t complete rest—it’s controlled movement and progressive recovery.

⚠️ But fractures are different.

Bones need stability and immobilization to heal properly. Too much motion too early can lead to displacement, delayed healing, or even a nonunion.

The key takeaway: movement can be medicine for some injuries, but for others, it can be the problem.
