i’m not going to sit here and pretend my journey has been perfect. because it hasn’t.

my name is samantha samaka — okaaysami. 🇳🇬🇨🇦

i’m a nigerian woman, an artist, a creator, and someone who has had to fight through a lot of things people never saw behind the scenes.

i’ve had moments where i felt lost. moments where i questioned myself. moments where i had to rebuild my confidence after being judged, misunderstood, and counted out.

i’ve made mistakes. i’ve faced criticism. i’ve had chapters of my life i wouldn’t wish on anyone. but i’m also someone who refuses to let the hardest parts of my story be the thing that defines me.

i’m not entering miss universe nigeria because i think i’m flawless. i’m entering because i know what it feels like to be the girl who has to find her own voice, create her own opportunities, and keep going when nobody is clapping.

my story is not a fairytale. it’s real. it’s complicated. it’s still being written.

but that’s exactly why i’m here.

i want to represent the women who are still figuring things out. the women who have been through things they don’t always talk about. the women who are rebuilding themselves and refusing to give up.
