 In just a year, everything can change… this year I can’t believe I am a mommy but this wasn’t always the case. 

Last year was by far my HARDEST Mother’s day. I think it was something about yet a whole other year passing without getting pregnant and failing to conceive after taking 6 rounds of a medication for fertility treatment — It all really struck me to my core. 

I remember this day like it was yesterday… and wanted to speak to the heart of a mama in waiting. 

1. Cry if you need to. This journey is hard and remember that you can be happy for someone else and sad for yourself — both feelings can coexist.

2. Consider a social media break for tomorrow. Mother’s day will most likely be a flood of mommy/pregnancy announcement posts and if it is hard to see, take a social media day off for your sanity. 🫶🏽

3. Allow yourself to be celebrated and/or celebrate yourself and celebrate a mom or mother figure in your life. Sometimes what brings relief to a heavy heart is making another’s smile. 

4. Remember that your value is not shaken by the inability to become a mother or get pregnant. 

To the woman still waiting and to the woman who grieves tomorrow — I see you and I celebrate you.❤️
