✨36 Hours in Edinburgh ✨

If like us you have been dreaming of a weekend away in 9 years but can only squeeze in one night away then this could be the trip for you. 

Here’s our 36 hour itinerary:
Day 1
10:00am
Arrive in Edinburgh and take a taxi to canoncaveuk to drop your bags. We absolutely loved staying here. The location couldn’t have been better and the cave apartment made the trip feel really unique and so special. All the details were perfection. 

10:45am
Walk through Princes Street Gardens, taking in the views of Edinburgh Castle.

11:30am
Brunch at The Huxley. Great food and the perfect place to start your city break.

12:45pm
Walk to Dean Village, one of the prettiest spots in Edinburgh. It’s peaceful, picturesque and definitely worth adding to your list.

2:30pm
Cocktails at Department of Magic. If you’re a Harry Potter fan, this is an absolute must. The themed cocktails, interactive experience and atmosphere were incredible.

3:30pm
Check into Canon Cave, freshen up, relax in the roll top bath and have a little rest before heading back out.

6:00pm
Walk to Victoria Street, then explore Grassmarket before visiting Greyfriars Bobby.

Continue on to The Vennel Viewpoint for one of the best castle views in the city before finishing with a stroll past Scott Monument as the city begins to light up.

8:00pm
Dinner at fogo.uk Without a doubt one of our favourite meals of the trip. If you love steak, this is one I’d recommend booking in advance. It’s a whole experience. 

Day 2
7:00am
Get up early and explore before the crowds arrive. Seeing Victoria Street and Vennel Viewpoint almost empty was one of the highlights of the weekend.

8:00am
Stop for breakfast or grab a pastry from one of Edinburgh’s amazing bakeries.

9:00am
Hike Arthur’s Seat. The climb is well worth it for the panoramic views across the city.

11:00am onwards
Take your time wandering down the Royal Mile, dipping into the little independent shops, closes and cafés before heading home.

Save this if you’re planning an Edinburgh weekend. We managed to fit all of this into 36 hours without feeling rushed.
