It makes me pretty sad to say this. I'm a bigger fan of Jasson Dominguez than Spencer Jones. If I could wave a magic wand and make one of them a superstar, the answer for me is simple. It’s Dominguez.

Unfortunately, things aren’t that easy. If Aaron Judge is going to be out for a while longer, the Yankees should really think about putting Jones in right and sending Dominguez down. You hate to nitpick one bad play yesterday, but it’s not the first time Dominguez dropped a ball or had a misplay in the outfield. It’s still happening, and Jones has more of a sure hand out there.

The Yankees have been plagued by bad defense and unearned runs. Making the switch is one way to mitigate things. Plus, it’s not like Dominguez is hitting the cover off the ball. He’s been pretty below average, and, at best, mediocre this year. If Jones brings the same bat, at least the Yankees know they’ll have the better defender out there.
