Although officially announced as a television series rather than a feature film, Blood Aces is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated projects connected to Las Vegas. The series stars Cole Hauser as legendary casino boss Benny Binion, the larger-than-life figure whose influence helped transform Las Vegas into the gambling capital of the world while also laying the foundation for the World Series of Poker. The project is based on Doug J. Swanson’s acclaimed nonfiction book and is being developed by MGM Television alongside Balboa Productions and American Outlaw Entertainment. Executive producers include Sylvester Stallone, D. Matt Geller, Hauser, Randall Batinkoff, and Jai Stefan. 

No filming locations have been officially announced, but given the story’s deep roots in downtown Las Vegas, Binion’s Horseshoe, and the city’s early casino era, Las Vegas appears to be a strong candidate for at least a portion of production. Whether the series recreates historic Fremont Street on location or combines Las Vegas with studio work elsewhere remains unknown. With Nevada continuing to pursue major film and television productions, Blood Aces has the potential to become another high-profile project showcasing the city’s rich and often untold history.
