🔥 The legendary roar of Mad Max’s V8 Interceptor is widely considered one of the most menacing and iconic engine sounds in cinema history.

Beneath the hood of the modified 1973 Ford XB Falcon sat a powerful 351 Cleveland V8, but its terrifying onscreen voice required serious cinematic trickery.

Because the movie’s famous supercharger was actually a non-functional prop, sound designers meticulously layered the raw exhaust notes with mechanical whines and predatory animal growls to create that mechanical beast.
