Jay-Z is looking noticeably fit at 56, and people are taking notice. 💪🏾
Recent photos of the rapper, husband and father of three have sparked plenty of conversation. People pointed out his toned arms and chest, while others said cutting off his signature locs has made him look noticeably younger.

“Health is wealth.”
“Perfect example of how you can age backwards with fitness.”
“Too many people get to that age and let themselves go.”

Then came the other side of the debate: “It helps to have money.”

And of course it does. Wealth can buy access to personal trainers, chefs, high-quality food, healthcare, more control over your time and opportunities to prioritise recovery.

Those advantages shouldn't be dismissed.
But others made an equally important point: there are regular people, without celebrity wealth, who are staying active, lifting weights, walking, cooking nutritious meals and taking care of their health well into their 50s, 60s and beyond.

Money can improve access. It can make healthy living easier. But many of the foundations of good health remain remarkably ordinary: move your body, maintain your muscle, eat nutritious food, sleep well and stay consistent.

Jay-Z has kept his current fitness routine private, but his interest in health and wellness goes back years. He has previously worked with trainer Marco Borges and experimented with plant-based eating alongside his wife, Beyoncé.
At 56, his recent appearance has opened up a bigger conversation about ageing.

We can't stop getting older. And not everyone enters midlife with the same health, income, time or circumstances.

But ageing shouldn't automatically mean giving up on our strength, mobility and physical health.
Health is wealth; and whatever resources we have, investing some of them into taking care of our bodies is one of the most valuable investments we can make.
