Nueva York dio inicio formal a la construcción de 2 World Trade Center, la torre que durante años quedó como una de las piezas pendientes del nuevo complejo del World Trade Center.⁠

El edificio estará ubicado en 200 Greenwich Street, justo al norte del Oculus, y será la nueva sede global de American Express. El proyecto está previsto para completarse en 2031.⁠

Aunque no será una torre igual a One World Trade Center, sí tendrá un peso importante dentro del skyline de Lower Manhattan: medirá 1,226 pies, tendrá 55 pisos y contará con casi 2 millones de pies cuadrados de espacio moderno de oficinas.⁠
