Watching Jamie and John’s lived experiences in the Mening-Itinerary reminded me how important it is to stay informed and ask your teens doctor about meningitis. After all, among teens and young adults, 16-23-year-olds have the highest rates of meningitis, and the bacteria that causes meningitis can be shared through certain everyday activities like sharing food, drinks, and utensils, kissing, and living in close quarters… things teens do when they’re being teens.
