The New York Knicks pulled off one of the most unbelievable comebacks basketball fans have ever seen, erasing a 29 point deficit to defeat the San Antonio Spurs in the 2026 NBA Finals. It was the largest comeback in NBA Finals history. For most of the night, it looked like the SA Spurs were about to even the series. Led by Victor Wembanyama, Dylan Harper, and a young San Antonio core, the Spurs dominated the opening half, building a 27 point halftime lead and looking in control. The offense was flowing, the defense was locked in, and Madison Square Garden had gone silent.

The NY Knicks came out of the locker room playing with desperation, intensity, and the energy of a basketball team that refused to let the season slip away on their home court. New York kept chipping away. Jalen Brunson proved why he’s one of the biggest NBA Playoffs performers in basketball, finishing with 36 points and 7 assists. OG Anunoby delivered the greatest playoff game of his NBA career, going for a playoff career high 33 points before scoring the unforgettable game winning tip-in with just 1.2 seconds remaining, sending Madison Square Garden and New York Knicks fans and New York City into chaos.

After putting up 76 points in the first half, the Spurs were held to 30 points after halftime, as New York flipped the game with suffocating defense, relentless effort, and one of the greatest second half performances the NBA Finals has ever seen. The New York Knicks won their first NBA Championship since 1973. NBA history has been made and NBA fans were able to experience it.
