A military spokesman for the Iran-aligned Houthi movement, which controls northern Yemen, called the attacks "blatant aggression."⁣

"In response to this criminal Saudi aggression, the Yemeni (Houthi) Armed Forces carried out a significant military operation targeting Abha International Airport with a number of ballistic missiles and drones," he said. "The operation successfully achieved its objectives."⁣

The strikes are the first claimed by the Houthis against the kingdom since an informal truce took effect in 2022.⁣
