At least 11 people have died and 19 remain missing after a fast-moving wildfire swept through parts of Almeria in southern Spain, one of the country's deadliest blazes on record.⁣

Authorities said most of the victims appear to have been foreign nationals who ignored instructions to shelter in place. Several people died after attempting to flee by car or on foot as flames rapidly spread through wooded areas near Los Gallardos and Bedar.⁣
