Three generations. One team. The same beautiful thread. 🏈❤️💛

Long before Arrowhead, my grandmother Norma was a school teacher who sold tickets and hosted for the Dallas Texans, the team that would later become the Kansas City Chiefs. She met my grandfather, Lamar, in 1962. They married in 1964, and the rest is history—beginning a beautiful marriage that lasted 42 years.

Decades later, my mom Tavia was a 19-year-old intern in the Chiefs PR department. At the season kickoff luncheon, a “nice guy named Clark” walked up and started a conversation…and just like that, my parents’ story began much like my grandparents’ had. A whole generation apart.

And then there’s Derek and me—two families, both rooted in this team, brought together once again by the Chiefs. We played together as toddlers at Chiefs Christmas parties and then reconnected pregame on the Chiefs sideline in December 2017. I’ve realized our love story is the newest chapter of one God has been writing in my family for more than sixty years. 

Some families pass down heirlooms. Mine passes down football love stories. 🥹❤️
