One of the biggest factors affecting your sex life might have nothing to do with your relationship.

As Dr. Mohit Khera — board-certified urologist and sexual health expert — shares with @heartstatewithandrea, certain antidepressants, including SSRIs and SNRIs, are well known to affect sexual function.

They can impact:
- Libido
- Arousal
- Orgasm
- Overall sexual satisfaction

In fact, Dr. Khera explains that some of these medications are prescribed to treat premature ejaculation because of how effectively they delay orgasm.

This doesn't mean you should stop taking medication that's helping your mental health.

It does mean that if you've noticed changes in your sex life, it's worth talking with your healthcare provider. These side effects are common, and you deserve to understand all of your options.

Sexual health is part of your overall health.

The more we talk about it, the better care we can receive.

🎙️ Watch the full Getting Open episode for a science-backed conversation about libido, hormones, sexual wellness, and healthy aging with Dr. Mohit Khera.
