MLK Day is a time to honor the voices that shaped the movement. 

James Weldon Johnson - writer, activist, and co creator of “Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing” - used art and advocacy to advance civil rights. A leading figure of the Harlem Renaissance, his collaboration with Aaron Douglas united poetry and visual art to amplify Black voices and the ongoing struggle for justice.
