OpenAI's newest model beats its biggest competitor at a quarter of the cost. 

It's called GPT-5.6, and this time OpenAI launched three models:

1) Luna - fast and lightweight
2) Terra - built for everyday work
3) Sol- the flagship, getting all the attention

According to OpenAI's own benchmarks, Sol outperforms Claude on many difficult tasks while costing roughly a quarter as much.

But that's not the real upgrade.

Older AI needed step-by-step guidance for every task.
