China just sank 2,000 computers into the ocean.

It might be one of the smartest things they've ever done.

Off the coast of Shanghai, 35 meters underwater, a company called HiCloud sealed powerful AI computers inside giant waterproof capsules — like mini submarines — dropped them to the ocean floor, linked them together, and turned them on.

China Telecom is already using it for real work. Powered entirely by offshore wind farms.

Here's why it's genius. On land, cooling data centers eats up to 40% of all the power they use.

China's solution: let the ocean do it for free. Over 95% of the power is clean energy.

Here's the twist nobody talks about. China wasn't first. Microsoft ran the exact same experiment off the coast of Scotland.

It worked — underwater servers broke down far less than land ones.

Then Microsoft shut the whole project down in 2024.

China picked up where Microsoft left off. Except this time it's not an experiment. It's a real business doing real work.

Genius move everyone should copy, or a risky bet at the bottom of the sea? Tell me below.

Save this — underwater data centers are coming faster than anyone expected.
