## Caption

The newly released Maternal Mortality report identified most pregnancy-associated maternal deaths in 2017-2018 took place 6 weeks to 1 year postpartum. As of July 1, Medicaid coverage can now extend through one year postpartum, a policy change that will help many birthing people.
