FORMAL COMPLAINT FILED AGAINST JUDGE ASHLEE COLE IN NOLAN WELLS CASE

A formal judicial complaint has been filed against Judge Ashlee Cole in connection with her public statements about the death of Nolan Wells.

The complaint alleges that Judge Cole violated provisions of the Mississippi Constitution, the Mississippi Code of Judicial Conduct, and a Memorandum of Understanding governing judicial ethics.

Supporters of the complaint argue that because Judge Cole’s stepson, Warren, has been publicly identified as being connected to the events surrounding Nolan Wells’ death, her public comments about the case raise concerns about impartiality and judicial ethics.

The complaint asks Mississippi’s judicial oversight authorities to review whether her actions were appropriate and consistent with the ethical obligations of a sitting judge.

It is important to note that filing a judicial complaint is not a finding of misconduct. It is a request for an independent review. The Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance will determine whether any judicial rules or ethical standards were violated.

As of now, Judge Cole has not been found to have committed any ethical violation.

The Wells family has continued to call for transparency, accountability, and a full investigation into Nolan’s death. The judicial complaint represents another effort by community members to seek independent oversight of issues they believe deserve further review.
