આગામી પવિત્ર ભગવાન શ્રી જગન્નાથજીની રથયાત્રા નિમિત્તે વિરમગામ શહેરમાં કાયદો અને વ્યવસ્થાની પરિસ્થિતિ જળવાઈ રહે તથા નાગરિકોમાં સુરક્ષાની ભાવના મજબૂત બને તે હેતુથી ટાઉન પોલીસ દ્વારા સઘન ફૂટ પેટ્રોલિંગ હાથ ધરવામાં આવ્યું હતું. નાયબ પોલીસ અધિક્ષક તપનસિંહ ડોડીયા અને પોલીસ ઇન્સ્પેક્ટર એસ. એ. ગઢવીની આગેવાની હેઠળ પોલીસ કાફલા અને હોમગાર્ડ જવાનો દ્વારા શહેરના મુખ્ય માર્ગો, રથયાત્રા રૂટ અને સંવેદનશીલ વિસ્તારોમાં માર્ચ યોજવામાં આવી હતી. વિરમગામ ટાઉન પોલીસ દ્વારા CCTV મોનિટરિંગ અને ટેક્નિકલ સર્વેલન્સથી સમગ્ર પરિસ્થિતિ પર સતત બાજ નજર રાખવામાં આવી રહી છે. પોલીસે તમામ નાગરિકોને અફવાઓથી દૂર રહેવા, શાંતિ જાળવવા અને પોલીસ તંત્રને સહકાર આપવા ખાસ અપીલ કરી છે.
