મહેસાણા જિલ્લાના ખેરાલુ શહેરમાં ગત રાત્રે બસ સ્ટેશન રોડ જેવા મુખ્ય અને ધમધમતા વિસ્તારમાં એકસાથે ૫ થી વધુ દુકાનોના તાળા તૂટવાની સનસનાટીભરી ઘટના સામે આવી છે. સદનસીબે પ્રાથમિક માહિતી મુજબ દુકાનોમાંથી કોઈ મોટી ચોરી થઈ નથી, પરંતુ અગાઉ ડભોડા વિસ્તાર અને ચીમનભાઈ ચોકડી પરથી થયેલી વાહન-મોબાઈલ ચોરીઓ બાદ હવે એક જ રાત્રે આટલી બધી દુકાનોને નિશાન બનાવવામાં આવતા વેપારીઓ અને સ્થાનિકોમાં ભારે ભયનો માહોલ વ્યાપી ગયો છે. ખેરાલુના ગ્રામ્ય વિસ્તારો બાદ હવે શહેરમાં પણ ગુનેગારો બેફામ બનતા નાગરિકો રાત્રિ પોલીસ પેટ્રોલિંગની નબળી કામગીરી સામે ગંભીર સવાલો ઉઠાવી રહ્યા છે. ચોરોમાં કાયદાનો ખોફ રહે અને વેપારીઓની રાતોની ઊંઘ હરામ ન થાય તે માટે સ્થાનિકોએ રાત્રિના સમયે કડક સુરક્ષા વ્યવસ્થાની માંગ કરી છે.
