Before the attraction officially opened to the public on July 4, 2016, Universal invited media and special guests to experience this terrifying year-round walkthrough inspired by AMC's hit television series. Developed with the involvement of Executive Producer Greg Nicotero and the talented team at KNB EFX, the attraction featured incredibly detailed sets, lifelike walkers, live scareactors, animatronics, and special effects that recreated unforgettable moments from the show.

In this archival video, you'll get a look at the attraction as it appeared during its opening week, capturing a piece of Universal Studios Hollywood history that horror fans and theme park enthusiasts won't want to miss.

The Walking Dead Attraction remained a popular part of the park until its final day of operation on March 3, 2020, making videos like this an important look back at one of Universal's most immersive permanent horror experiences.
