Located in Los Angeles County, California, Universal Studios Hollywood is the only place in the world where a working movie and television studio operates alongside a world-class theme park. Known as "The Entertainment Capital of LA," Universal City Studios has been producing some of Hollywood's most iconic films and television shows for over a century and has inspired every Universal Studios theme park worldwide.

The Studio Tour is the heart of the park, taking guests on a 45–70 minute journey aboard multi-car trams through the legendary Universal front and backlot. Guided by a live Studio Tour Guide and enhanced with video presentations, the tour travels through the Front Lot, Backlot, and production facilities while showcasing famous filming locations, working soundstages, special effects, and attractions inspired by some of Hollywood's biggest blockbusters.

The history of the Studio Tour dates back to 1915, when guests paid just 25 cents to watch film productions from simple wooden bleachers. In 1964, Universal transformed the experience by introducing the famous pink-and-white Glamour Trams, creating the modern Studio Tour that remains the signature attraction today. The park continued to grow with the opening of the Entertainment Center (Upper Lot) in 1965, eventually evolving into the destination visitors know today.

Throughout its history, the Universal Studios Lot has served as the filming location for countless classic and modern motion pictures, including Psycho, Back to the Future, War of the Worlds, Jurassic Park, Bruce Almighty, Jaws, The Sting, Dracula, Spartacus, To Kill a Mockingbird, Despicable Me, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, The Birds, the Fast & Furious franchise, King Kong, Meet the Fockers, American Graffiti, Apollo 13, The Incredible Hulk, Schindler's List, The Truman Show, Out of Sight, Liar Liar, The Great Outdoors, Gremlins, Airport, The Blues Brothers, The War of the Roses, The Nutty Professor, Casper, The Mummy, Backdraft, Cape Fear, Parenthood, The Secret of My Success, Animal House, Beethoven, and Scent of a Woman.

The studio has also been home to many beloved television productions, including The Office (U.S.), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Desperate Housewives, Arrested Development, Parks and Recreation, Quantum Leap, Leave It to Beaver, Murder, She Wrote, Battlestar Galactica, Knight Rider, The Munsters, The Burbs, Community, Coach, Airwolf, Magnum, P.I., and Alfred Hitchcock Presents.
