The City of Mebane is happy to share that 𝐋𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐞𝐥 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤 will partially 𝐫𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 this 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟏𝟕, at 6 a.m. Park hours will remain 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The following areas will be open for public use:
✅ Trails
✅ Playgrounds
✅ Picnic shelters
✅ Approved fishing piers where signs indicate they may be used

Picnic shelters will also be available to rent again through CivicRec.

𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞: Lake and water access remain 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐟𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞. This includes: 
❌ No shoreline access
❌ No bank fishing
❌ No fishing from closed piers or floating docks
❌ No kayaking, canoeing, or boating
❌ No use of the boat ramp
❌ No entering or approaching the water

Visitors must stay at least 𝟏𝟎 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 at all times and follow all posted signs, barriers, and instructions. These restrictions are in place for public safety and must be followed by everyone visiting the park.

We are grateful to welcome the community back to Lake Michael Park in this limited capacity and appreciate your continued patience and cooperation.

Please note: Lake and water access will remain closed due to extremely low water levels and insufficient rainfall. Additional rainfall is needed to help restore water levels before these activities can safely resume.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we monitor conditions and work toward safely reopening additional water access and activities at Lake Michael when conditions allow.
