When this country was founded, it declared that all people are created equal. In practice, that promise was not extended to everyone.⁠

Part of why LCCR exists is to confront the lingering effects of systems that excluded and disenfranchised. While those systems have changed over time, roots that deep do not disappear overnight.⁠
