Though today the atrium hosts a bustling sit-down restaurant for designers and guests to enjoy (Market Square Bistro, operated by D'Amico Hospitality), the atrium was originally used as a space to transport undergarments made by Munsingwear Inc. Trains entered the formerly open-air atrium before being packed full of merchandise and transported to eager shoppers.
