A shocking controversy has emerged around the Vaishno Devi Shrine after reports claimed that donated silver worth around ₹550 crore was mostly not pure silver.

More than 20 tonnes of offerings collected over the years were reportedly tested at a government mint, where questions were raised about the actual composition and value of the material.
