In honor of Pink Flamingo Day, we're thrilled to share exciting news from our Latin America Conservation Program! 🦩 

Through the innovative use of aerial drone technology, DZCA and our Peruvian partners documented the first successful Chilean flamingo nesting at Lake Chinchaycocha (also known as Lake Junín) in Peru's Central Andes in more than 10 years. 

This exciting discovery highlights how science-based conservation research helps us better understand wildlife, monitor vulnerable populations and guide efforts to protect species in the wild. Thank you to our partners, Junin National Reserve, grupo.rana, Island Foundation, and cateyano.oficial, for helping support this vital work.
