This is your sign to book a trip to the britishvirginis 🇻🇬! We spent 5 days exploring the island nation and were super impressed with the beaches, accommodation, food, and how family-friendly it was. 

Interested? Here’s some info to help you plan your trip:

1. BVI is made up of over 50 islands, but the four main ones are Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Anegada, and Jost Van Dyke.

2. One of the most direct ways to get there from the U.S. and Canada is to fly via San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU) and then hop a connecting 40-minute flight into Tortola (EIS) or Virgin Gorda (VIJ) airports. However, starting June 1, American Airlines is offering non-stop flights to BVI from Miami. 

3. English is the official language of BVI and the official currency is the U.S. Dollar. Most major credit cards (with the exception of American Express) are widely accepted.

4. While the British Virgin Islands are renowned for their pristine beaches and reefs, they are also a world-famous yachting destination. Sailing is a big deal!

5. Despite being touted as a luxury destination in the past, there are more affordable options to travel throughout the islands than ever before. For example, if you’re on a budget, vacation rentals are a more cost-effective alternative to hotels.

6. While BVI is great to visit year round, Mid-August to end-October is when tropical weather systems are most likely to occur.

7. Short on time? 3-4 days is enough to island hop around BVI and get a feel for what it's all about.
