I’m going to keep this simple: Like my dear friends at love.futbol, I want every kid to have a place to play.

Because through sports, and this beautiful game in particular, so many valuable life skills can be learned and sharpened, i.e. working together, overcoming obstacles, problem-solving, accountability, discipline, sportsmanship, how to communicate, how to listen, and the list goes on and on!

It also allows the kids to be a part of something bigger than themselves and the thrill that comes from being part of a team or making a difference in your community.

Which gets me back to love.futbol and the incredible organizations they are partnering with here in the United States and around the world.

In Philadelphia alone, where I just visited last week,  LoveFutbol and their partners (PhillyPlays, safehub_philly kensingtonsoccerclub and streetsoccerusa) have completed 11 projects (13 pitches and 8 basketball courts), investing over 3 million dollars in play spaces and programming across the city, and they — and these hard-working and passionate programs and communities — are not going to stop until every kid in Philly has a safe place to play!

So it’s an honor to be involved and to give back to the game in this way. 

Thank you for everything that you do, love.futbol and to all of the people behind-the-scenes in these communities, programs, and schools that are doing the thankless work to make the world a better place.  I see you!
