Congratulations to the Idaho National Guard’s 124fighterwing Maintenance group on their new home! This includes two newly renovated buildings, marking the completion of a project that has been in the works for ten years. As the AMXS Squadron’s Honorary Commander, I was honored to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony on July 9 at Gowen Field.

Buildings 1530 and 1529 were originally built to support C-130 flying operations and have now been renovated to support maintenance operations for the A-10 Thunderbolt II and potential follow-on fighter missions.

Planning and design for the renovations began in 2016 and included support from 124th Fighter Wing leadership, the 124th Civil Engineer Squadron, the 124th Logistics Readiness Squadron contracting team, and the general contractor.

The project took two years to complete, totaling 89,000 man-hours and a $22 million investment.

It’s a beautiful space, and I’m so excited for the Airmen who will work in and benefit from this updated facility. Swipe for more details.
