Who's up next as MLS commissioner?

Sources indicated that the search has narrowed to three candidates: LAFC co-owner Larry Berg, 49ers Enterprises President Paraag Marathe and former Fox executive David Nathanson.

Puck’s John Ourand first reported the names of the three finalists on Friday.

Final presentations to MLS owners are expected in the coming weeks, with a decision potentially arriving as soon as next month.

Each finalist brings a distinct background spanning club ownership, sports investment, media and executive leadership.

The league’s next commissioner will inherit several pivotal challenges, including negotiating a new collective bargaining agreement, securing MLS’s next media rights deal following its Apple partnership and helping shape the league’s long-term competitive and business strategy.
