Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joe Sliders from @thesaltycooker

A mashup of two classics that disappear in seconds. Made with Niman Ranch ground beef for rich, juicy flavor every time!

Ingredients (makes 6 to 8 sliders)
1 lb ground beef
2 tsp browning sauce (sub 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce)
1 1/2 cups water
1 large onion, diced
1 green pepper, diced
2 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp oregano
3 tbsp ketchup
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp cornstarch
Optional: 8 oz button mushrooms, sliced thin

Place a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef, break it up, and allow it to partially cook. Add the onions and green pepper. Sauté until onions are translucent. Add the seasoning, ketchup, browning sauce, cornstarch, and water. Mix well. Once the liquid is reduced by half, add the mushrooms. Cook until the sauce thickens.

Cheese sauce
2 tsp nutritional yeast powder
8 oz shredded cheddar cheese (dairy free if preferred)
1 cup milk (almond milk works well)
4 oz sour cream (dairy free if preferred)
Pinch of salt and pepper
1/4 tsp ground mustard

Add all ingredients to a stock pot and place over medium low heat. Stir until melted and smooth.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Add the bottom half of the buns to an oven safe dish, top with ground beef, cheese, and the top bun. Add 1/2 tbsp butter to each bun and bake for 10 minutes. Remove and enjoy.
