I’m sitting in this hot tub thinking about what it really means to birth a record.

Not just record songs. Not just release music. Birth it.

Because 13 Moons did not come from a marketing meeting. It came from a life well lived. From being signed and shelved. From raising five children. From loving, losing, healing, becoming a grandmother five times over, and still hearing the music inside me whisper, I’m not finished with you yet.

So yes, I’m pushing this musical baby out now.

Not because the timing is perfect. Not because every piece feels easy. But because I have carried it long enough. At some point, what lives inside you begins to demand air. It starts kicking against your ribs. It refuses to remain an idea.

And that is where I am.

Excited. Emotional. Terrified. Determined. A little tired—and still deeply in love with what is being born.

13 Moons is my life in sound. Every cycle. Every scar. Every sensual awakening. Every death and resurrection. Every woman I have been had a hand in making this record.

I am not chasing youth. I am not trying to prove I still belong. I am delivering what only a woman who has lived this long, loved this deeply, and survived this beautifully could create.

The water is warm. The contractions have started.
