Teedra Moses responded pretty directly and unapologetically to the criticism about her recent stage outfit and age.

After someone commented that she should “pull down the dress” because of her age and said nobody wanted to see that, Teedra pushed back against the idea that women should dress differently once they get older.

In her response, she basically said:
1) being 50 means she no longer cares about policing herself for other people’s comfort,
2) her clothing choices are about what she feels good in,
3) aging should not mean shrinking yourself or hiding your body,
4) and women especially are pressured unfairly by “she’s too old to…” comments.

She framed the criticism as age-shaming and said people who survive life, hardship, and aging have “earned the right” to live freely and enjoy themselves. She also emphasised body confidence, saying she loves her body “even tho I’m bigger than I’ve ever been” and that beauty doesn’t disappear with age.

A big theme in her post was:
'if aging is a privilege, people shouldn’t be made ashamed of it.'

She also mentioned losing her parents relatively young, saying that experience made her appreciate getting older instead of fearing it. Overall, her reaction was less “clapback anger” and more a statement about self-acceptance, confidence, and rejecting age policing.

Have you ever had your style questioned because of your age? how did you respond?
