I’ve shared a lot about fibroids because I’ve been personally affected and it feels just as important to speak on the challenges faced by those living with PCOS. While I don’t have personal experience with it, I’ve taken the time to understand it more.

One thing is clear: when it comes to PCOS, prioritising nutrition isn’t optional. Trying to pursue weight loss without addressing nutrition is like climbing a downward escalator. Internal repair has to come first before any lasting physical change can happen, and that process takes time.

Through my research, I’ve also come across habits that can make weight loss with PCOS even more difficult; things many people overlook. These include constant snacking or eating between meals, long periods of sitting, low fibre intake, poor sleep, high stress levels, and relying heavily on ultra-processed foods. None of these exist in isolation. They compound.

For those new here, you might wonder why I speak so much about weight loss. I started this page back in 2014 as a digital vision board at a time when I was a stay-at-home mum trying to find my way back to myself. Over time, others connected with that journey, and this space grew into something bigger than I ever expected.

At the core of it all is health. Without it, life can feel dulled; like experiencing everything through a foggy lens. And the reality is, obesity-related conditions continue to impact our communities at a disproportionate rate. That’s not something we have to accept as fixed.

We all have a role to play in shifting that narrative. I’m committed to doing my part. If you’re ready, you can start where you are- at home. Choose to eat better and move more.
I’m currently putting together a more in-depth guide on PCOS and weight loss, which I’ll be sharing soon.

For now, hop over to the blog for this piece. AfroGirlFitness . Com
