In the first in our series of videos about the National Disability Initiative, learn about one of our areas of focus, or how we're spreading adaptive tech and innovation to people with disabilities across Canada. Some of the projects our member organizations are working on in this area include:

- wavefrontcentre partnering with schools, event venues, and public spaces to improve communication access for people who are Deaf, DeafBlind, or Hard of Hearing
-canadianwomensfoundation granting to initiatives like the Disability Justice Network of Ontario’s Assistive Devices Library, which provides life-enhancing adapted equipment to women in need

Video description: Jackie, National Disability Initiative Working Group Member, talks about how in the first year of the National Disability Initiative, 28 projects were made with input from lived experience. Then, Ben, another working group member, talks about his favourite part of being a part of the National Disability Initiative, and Jackie adds her input as well. They then go into some of the biggest issues members of the disability community face, and the future of the National Disability Initiative and what they are excited for. Jackie then goes into describing one of her favourite National Disability Initiative funded projects, Brain Computer Interface. The video ends by highlighting how the National Disability Initiative is possible thanks to generous funding from The Slaight Family Foundation.
